Kingdon Wessex is proud to be a family owned, friendly and forward-thinking company. We work hard to deliver our vison of being a supportive employer, fostering a safe and high standard workplace whilst maintaining high levels of quality service to both internal and external customers. These values run through everything we do and the way we do it. The company believes in investing in its employees, providing learning and development opportunities to help you to achieve your goals and be the best you can be.
We offer a wide range of careers covering sales, technical, administration and accounting. Every one of our employees plays an important part in the success of Kingdon Wessex. Join us now and find out for yourself why it’s great to be a member of the Kingdon Wessex family. We play as hard as we work, with paintballing sessions, trips to the rugby, mixing work and play at the Royal Cornwall show and various other social events. This is what some of our staff have to say:
“Pleasant working environment with friendly staff who are a pleasure to work alongside and have a laugh with – I would recommend a friend and I have”
“I love the fact that, coming from a corporate background, Kingdon Wessex is an individual friendly and family run business.”
The DAF Trucks National Dealer Apprentice Programme
The company has a very successful apprenticeship scheme and every year it aims to take on a least one apprentice at each of its sites. The number of Kingdon Wessex apprentices who have been awarded 'Apprentice of the Year' from DAF over the years is evidence of our commitment to providing the best support and training both at college and in our workshops. We provide mentors for all our apprentices so that there is always support from a qualified technician who is able to pass on their own knowledge and experience in addition to the comprehensive DAF training. From day one, our apprentices are part of the Kingdon Wessex family and like any ‘proud parents’ it is great to see the progress from a new starter to a confident and qualified technician at the end of the apprenticeship.
Some of our Happy Team
Pete joined Kingdon Wessex in 2001. He arrives at work daily on his bike and is well known for his love of walking and running (mainly to work off all the sausage rolls and pasties from a well-known food outlet on his round!).
“I enjoy working for a professional company who value their staff and reward hard work”
Dean joined Kingdon Wessex in 1998 as an apprentice and is now one of our senior master technicians. Dean is passionate about his work and is a terrific mentor for the apprentices in our workshop.
“Since joining Kingdon Wessex in 1998 as an Apprentice, I have been committed to the role. I have received investment and gained qualifications and achievements whilst diagnosing and repairing the most modern vehicles in a great workshop environment”
Jamie joined Kingdon Wessex in 2018 and is nearing the end of his first year. Already hands on in the workshop working alongside his mentor, Jamie is earning as he’s learning.
“I love what I do, this is my opportunity to get the career I have always wanted”
